APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Message "INZU474I DATA TYPE FOR TARGET COLUMN column-name NOT
SPECIFIED BY INTO CLAUSE, DEFAULT TYPE <type-name> APPLIES" is
issued while no INTO clause is involved by the unload statement.
This occurs if a column-level formatting request (such as the
FORMAT USER option) other than the INTO clause is specified for
the mentioned column but does not explicitly specifies the
    output data type.

Local fix

  • None.
Read COLUMN-LEVEL FORMATTING REQUEST instead of INTO CLAUSE to
understand the actual meaning of the message.
