PI84663: DFHSOSE SWITCH DEPTH ERROR, SHUTDOWN HANGS A03 ABENDS

APAR status

Error description

• DFHSOSE switch depth problem.
  .
  CICS shutdown hangs trying to quiesce the Socket domain. Domain
  Domain manager shows 2 active domains with the DS domain waiting
  for the SO domain. Kernel stacks for the task driving Socket
  domain quiesce (stacks include module DFHSODM) show processing
  in DELETE_TCB and TERMINATE_LE_ENCLAVE. Dispatcher domain shows
  one S8 TCB and it is owned by the Timer notify task.

  The A03 is caused by the SP TCB trying to terminate while it has
  a daughter task, the S8 TCB, still present.

  A CICS region with a TCPIPSERVICE specifying SSL and a non-zero
  SOCKETCLOSE value experiences an SA03 abend at shutdown.
  The Sockets domain does not quiesce cleanly because at that time
  an S8 TCB is still owned by the Timer Notify task which leads to
  the A03 abend.
  

Problem conclusion

• In the sockets domain a timing window that allowed an S8 TCB to
  be left associated with the Timer Notify task has been removed.
