Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All Users of Program Restart Facility V2R2. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An incorrect checkpoint ID can be * * displayed on the PRF ISPF "Administer * * Active/Abended Jobs" panel if a job has * * abended multiple times but has never * * taken more than 2 checkpoints in a * * previous run. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF that corrects this APAR. * **************************************************************** The checkpoint tracking data sets, CTA and CTB data sets, holds the most recent checkpoint information and data alternately. When S (ShowID) command is entered on "Administer Active/Abended Jobs" panel, PRF compares the checkpoint keys of the records in CTA and CTB data sets to determine which record is the most recent one for showing on ISPF panel. This usually works fine. However, if a job has abended multiple times but has never taken more than 2 checkpoints in a previous run, CTA data set can have multiple records which have the same checkpoint keys. In this case, PRF can display the checkpoint ID information of the first abended job record instead of the most recent one on the ISPF "Administer Active/Abended Jobs" panel incorrectly.
Problem conclusion
The program has been modified to compare the timestamps of the records in CTA and CTB data sets when S command is entered on ISPF "Administer Active/Abended Jobs" panel.
