PI82903: ALTER OF TABLESPACE CONTAINING AN INDEX-CONTROLLED PARTITIONED TABLE FAILS WITH RC=12 WHEN SELECTING THE MAKEPBR OPTION

Error description

• If a tablespace contains an index-controlled partitioned table,
  and an attempt is made to to ALTER the tablespace and select
  the MAKEPBR option, the ALTER will fail with rc=12 during merge
  processing.

  *                      by-range (PBR) tablespace fails         *
  *                      at MERGEVFS_CMM with                    *

  When using the MKPBR option to change a tablespace into a
  PBR tablespace, the process fails at MERGEVFS_CMM with RC = 12.
  The cause is that the internally generated ADMIN ALTER TABLE ...
  ALTER LOGICAL PARTITION statement specifies a partition
  number which does not exist because the tablespace was
  created in DB2 UDB for z/OS V8 or before.
