PI79454: LU61 CICS IMS CONNECTION GETS DFHZC2431 REQUEST TO RELEASED NODEAND DFHZC3434 UNBIND WHILE STILL ACTIVE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The CICS to IMS LU61 sessions are successfully acquired.
  However, if a transaction is initiated from CICS to IMS, the
  session that was used to send the request is unbound by IMS.
  The following messages are seen in CICS message log:
  .
  DFHZC2431 Request to a released node.
  .        VTAM RETURN CODE 0C0B
  .        ((1) Module name: DFHZSYX)
  DFHZC3434 Unbind received while session still active.
  .        ((3) Module name: DFHZSCX)
  .
    The internal trace in a CICS dump taken for message DFHZC3434
  with TC=1-2 shows the first x'A' bytes for FMH5 attach request.
  After that are two requests:
      x'06C480000B00'
      x'020B9316...'
  These are Origin Descriptor Record ( ODR ) data.
  ODR was only intended for MRO and IPIC connections.
  But, it looks like there may be an error in DFHXFP
  transformer 1  ( XFRM1 XFORM1 ) for the START command
  that allows it to be included in LU6.1 and LU6.2.
  This only happenS when the transaction definition of the
  transaction in the START command is defined with LOCALQ(YES).

Local fix

• A work around would be to specify LOCALQ(NO) in the transaction.
  

Problem summary

  There was a CICS to IMS LU6.1 connection and LOCALQ(YES) was
  specified on a remote transaction definition.
  An EXEC CICS START NOCHECK request was issued to function ship
  the transaction. The CICS transformer code in DFHXFP created a
  TIOA to send the request to IMS and incorrectly included
  Origin Descriptor Record (ODR) data. ODR is not supported for
  LU6.1 connections.
  IMS did not recognise the ODR data and the session was
  unbound. CICS issued messages DFHZC2431 and DFHZC3434 to
  report the unbinding of the session.

Problem conclusion

• CICS is changed so that ODR is not included on a function
  shipping request for a transaction with LOCALQ(YES) when using
  an LU6.1 connection.
