APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • z/OS Connect is being used with the CICS native JSON generator.
When a JSON response message is being generated, EBCDIC byte
x'61' (slash) is being replaced with x'E061' (backslash
followed by a slash). This replacement is even happening for
individual bytes of DBCS characters contained within SO/SI.
This is incorrect and corrupts the DBCS data.

    ****************************************************************
z/OS Connect is being used with the CICS native JSON
generator. When a JSON response message is being generated,
individual bytes of DBCS characters contained within SO/SI
are treated as SBCS bytes. E.g. EBCDIC byte x'61' (slash)
within SO/SI is replaced with x'E061' (backslash followed by
a slash). This is incorrect and corrupts the DBCS data.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPIJG has been altered to correctly ignore significant
    characters within DBCS data
