Error description
In RDz v9.5 when the user select the option to Generate Data Group with PURGE(YES) it creates the following error: xxxxx GDGPURGE(YES) PARMLIB KEYWORD OR PURGE IDCAMS PARAMETER WAS SPECIFIED, BUT THE DEFINE RESOLVED TO NOSCRATCH. NOPURGE IS USED, but the GDG is still created successfully. Steps to recreate: 1. Logon to z/OS. 2. Right click on MVS Files, select New & Define Generation Data Group. 3. Fill out the Generation Data group name field, Limit field then select OK. Workaround: None
Local fix
Problem summary
On z/OS 2.2 or higher systems, creating a generation data group when the GDGPURGE(YES) PARMLIB option was in effect would result in a warning message on the generation data group dialog.
Problem conclusion
A new checkbox has been added to the generation data group creation dialog to control the 'purge' option on supported systems.
