    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM IMS High Performance Change *
    *                 Accumulation V1.1.                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1- No indication of error is provided *
    * during conversion of time stamp values. *
    *                      2- NOTIFY.CA processing provides no     *
    * time zone offset allowing the TIMEZIN *
    * offset to be used. *
    *                      3- PITCA is created with a STOPTIME     *
    * prior to the STOPTIME of an existing *
    *                      CA.                                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the correcting PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    1- No indication of time stamp format conversion errors could
    complicate future problem determination.
    2- If the default TIMEZIN setting in the DBRC is changed after a
    CA is created then a PITCA is later created from that CA and
    registered in the DBRC without specifying the time zone offset
    that PITCA will be unusable for a LASTPITCA recovery.
    3- It is not valid to create a PITCA to a point in time prior to
    an existing CA.

Problem conclusion

  • 1- Code is added to test for errors following time stamp format
    Conversions. If an error occurs new message HPC4026W is issued.
    2- Code is added to retrieve the time zone offset of the CA used
    to create a PITCA and that same offset is used on the NOTIFY.CA
    to register the PITCA in the DBRC. After the fix is APPLY-ed
    the time stamp and offset of any PITCA created from a CA will be
    derived from the CA.
    3- Code is added to reject the PITCA request with new message
    HPC4013W if any valid CA exists with a time stamp later then the
    LOG TIME= value specified on the PITCA request.
