Error description
we are in the process of migrating our application from WAS-ND 7.0.0.41 to Liberty 16.0.0.2. We have encountered a problem with some identity assertion code that our MDBs use. It looks like the Liberty APIs do not allow a null password to be passed to the WSCallbackHandlerFactory.getInstance().getCallbackHandler() method. We implemented this code with the help of IBM consultants and with reference to this article: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/techjournal/1303 _lan sche/1303_lansc he.html Here is our code in question: CallbackHandler handler = WSCallbackHandlerFactory.getInstance(). getCallbackHandler(xxx.getSystemId(), (String) null); When this method is invoked (in the onMessage method of our MDBs) we get a NullPointerException coming from IBM's code. What is the proper way to assert a system identity to Liberty with no password required? Here is the entire stack trace: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.ibm.ws.security.jaas.common.internal.callback. WSCallbackHandlerFactoryImpl.createBasicAuthenticationData (WSCallbackHandlerFactoryImpl.java:177) at com.ibm.ws.security.jaas.common.internal.callback. WSCallbackHandlerFactoryImpl.getCallbackHandler (WSCallbackHandlerFactoryImpl.java:36) .... ...
