Error description

  • HPSG0408I message is eliminated from the Smart Reorg utility.
+HPSG0408I INCORRECT MUL-VOL OSAM DATA SET

The guaranteed space attribute of the SMS storage class is
recommended for allocating multi-volume OSAM data sets on SMS-
managed DASD in the IMS Administration Guide. However, it's not
a mandatory requirement for IMS databases.

After applying this APAR, the Smart Reorg utility HPSG0408I
message is disabled:
+HPSG0408I INCORRECT MUL-VOL OSAM DATA SET: DSN=dsname

In the IMS Administration Guide, the guaranteed space attribute
of the SMS storage class is still recommended for allocating
multi-volume OSAM data sets on SMS managed DASD.
However, it's not a mandatory requirement for IMS databases.
