APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • ibmjcehybrid provider fails to establish a TLSV1.2 when
    AES/GCM ciphers are in use.  Attempts to connect will fail
    with an Alert and close
    

Local fix

  • use the IBMJCECCA or the IBMJCE or IBMJSSEPROVIDER2 provider
    instead of the IBMJCEHYBRID provider.
    

Problem summary

  • AES/GCM gets javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Algorithm missing:  if
    IBMJCEHYBRID is in the provider list.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Support for AES/GCM added to IBMJCEHYBRID
    .
    This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
       7    SR9 FP60  (7.0.9.60)
       8    SR3 FP20  (8.0.3.20)
       7 R1 SR3 FP60  (7.1.3.60)
    .
