Error description

  • The JCL Editor in Rational Developer for System z (RDZ) 9.5

    //             BANK=&BANK,
    //             BNK1=&BNK1,
    //             EMAIL=CME2222,
    // JOB=CMD3333, <- here on down are flagged in error

    Example 2:
    //*
    //* TEST PARAMETERS
    //             DB2P=&DBP,
    //             FDD=&FDD,
    //             FDT=&FDT,
    //             FSI=&FSI,
    //             FSO=&FSO,
    //             D1='some-file-path'
    4 - //CMD44444 PROC BK=,
    //             BNK1=,
    //             FDD=D,
    //             FDP=D,
    //             FDT=D,
    //             FSI=,
    //             FSO=,
    //             G010=(+1),    - flagged as error
    //             G020=(+1),    - flagged as error

Local fix

Problem summary

  • If EXEC parameter names used reserved keywords such as 'JOB' and
    'OUTPUT', the IBM z/OS Explorer JCL editor flagged them as
    syntax errors.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM z/OS Explorer JCL parser has been updated to correct
    this issue.
