Error description
When using content assist in IBM Rational Developer for z Systems with a COBOL member with embedded SQL statements, when GX are the first two letters of the name of the DB2 table with a FROM SQL statement, the third and following letters are stripped by the SQL parser. The result is GX when the DB2 table should be AB1234AV. The error returned in content assist is "GX is invalid". As an example, in the member TABLGX, EXEC SQL SELECT A.IDENT_PROD ,A.VERS_NUM INTO :GXAB1234A.IDENT-PROD ,:GXAB1234A.VERS-NUM FROM GXAB1234V A WHERE ... Code will be changed in the SQL parser to accommodate this naming convention.
Local fix
If the table will allow, add quotes to the table name such as "GXAB1234V".
Problem summary
RDz's SQL parser incorrectly parses table names starting with 'GX' and shows a "GX is invalid" warning.
Problem conclusion
Modified SQL parser to correctly parse table names starting with 'GX'. The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for z Systems V9.5.1.2 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
