    ****************************************************************
For 1., depending on the timing of an AbEnd or following an
unsuccessful execution of IMS HPCA spill files can be left on
DASD. This requires the users to have to manually locate and
delete the spill files. The spill files are not being properly
disposed of due to the allocation dispositions required to make
the spill files available to the SORT address spaces.

For 2., if the user requests the spill files be retained by
specifying KEEPWORK the SPILxxxx files are retained but the
FPSFxxxx are not. This is caused by the deallocating &
re-allocation sequence to release unneeded space allocations.
The FPSFxxxx files are initially allocated NEW,CATALG,CATALG
then after releasing the excess space are re-allocated SHR,
DELETE,DELETE. This prohibits the FPSFxxxx files from being
retained at the conclusion of the job.

For 3., HPCAMAIN incorrectly issues an AbEnd 3400-46 when RC>4
is received from a SORT address space. The RC>4 is examined by
HPCARCAP and determined to be more than a simple warning. This
is then propagated back to HPCADRIV as SORTD_CC=x-20- which in
turn drives the 3400-46 AbEnd in HPCAMAIN.

Problem conclusion

  • The High Performance Change Accumulation utility is changed to
use NEW,DELETE,DELETE for the initial allocation of both the
SPILxxxx and FPSFxxxx files. An override disposition is then
used based on the KEEPWORK flag for further manipulation and
    disposition of the spill files.

The AbEnd 3400-46 is removed from HPCAMAIN when RC>4 is returned
    from a SORT address space.
