Error description
Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.5.1 Description : On Windows 7 and 8, pin the RDz shortcut to the Windows taskbar and launch RDz. This creates a second icon on the Windows taskbar, and this one cannot be pinned.
Local fix
A manual solution can be implemented to solve this issue : 1. Make sure RDz is started as one process by specifying the -vm argument in the eclipse.ini which points at the jvm.dll file from the JRE that is shipped with RDz (i.e replacing java.exe by the jvm.dll ). 2. Remove the "appName" parameter from the plugin.xml file which defines the product. In case of RDz it is plugin.xml inside the com.ibm.rational.developer.systemz.product plugin. 3. Start RDz from command line with the -clean argument (only once) to force RDz to reread the modified plugin.xml file.
