PI58330: WHEN ODE ATTEMPTS TO EXTRACT A ROOT SEGMENT WITH DBT FORMAT AND SDEP DEFINED, NO EXTRACT OCCURS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When OUTPUT=DBT and SDEPHIER=NO, ODE cannot extract the ROOT
  segments only.
  The issue occurs when SDEP is defined, and only ROOT is
  specified to extract.
  

Local fix

• Specify SDEPHIER=YES to force ODE to extract root segments
  with the DBT format.

  When OUTPUT=DBT, TFMT, or UR and SDEPHIER=NO are specified,
  ODE cannot extract only the root segments.
  In this case ODE can extract the root segments when SDEPHIER=YES
  is specified.
  

Problem conclusion

• When running ODE with OUTPUT=DBT, TFMT, or UR and SDEPHIER=NO
  for a DEDB that has SDEP segments, ODE incorrectly calculated
  one less number of segment types to be extracted.
  ODE has been modified to be able to extract only the root
  segments by correctly calculating the number of segment types
  to be extracted.
