In this instance it involves a cluster-receiver channel using a CHAD exit. . Keywords: xcsFreeMem xcsFreeMem XFFS XSTB Storage Problem rriFreeSess ClusterPtr storage MQCD conname . This problem may result in various other symptoms, such as an FFST issued by rrmRunTimers due to an rrmTimer control block being overlaid, resulting in high CPU on the CHIN's repository task.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 * * Release 1 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message CSQX053E message issued warning * * that an FFST has been written to * * CSQXSNAP. FFST contains information * * referring to rriFreeSess and * * "XSTB Storage Problem". * * Also high CHINIT CPU may be seen and an * * FFST produced by rrmRunTimers. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A cluster sender channel is started on a queue manager which has a CHAD exit defined, and the conname on the channel has more than one address (separated by a comma or commas). If the first destination in the conname fails then rriFreeSess frees up the storage pointed to by ClusterPtr but pChannel->CD.ClusterPtr still points to it. The channel may subsequently start when it retries with one of the remaining addresses in the conname, but when rriClusterFields is called it sees that the ClusterPtr address is not null and therefore quits. When the channel terminates rriFreeSess tries to release the ClusterPtr storage again, but it has already been freed, hence the FFST.
Problem conclusion
rriCallerEntry has been changed so that the channel ClusterPtr is nulled out if an attempt to start a CLUSSDR channel has failed. 100Y CMQXREVN CMQXRMSA CSQXCCAX CSQXCCCX CSQXRCCC CSQXREXT CSQXRFXC CSQXRMAS CSQXRMRS CSQXRMSS
