Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool for *
    * z/OS and IBM Tools Customizer for *
    *                 z/OS who use Change Management               *
    *                 to delete a change.                          *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The 'Enable Allow Change Delete' *
    * option allows the user to delete *
    * a change when it is set to 'No'. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When the product / DB2 parameters 'Enable Allow Change
    Delete' is set to 'NO' via the IBM Tools Customizer for
    z/OS, the user can still delete a change via the 'DEL' line
    command on panel ADB2C11 'CM - Changes'.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem has been resolved.

    1- The message ADBC104E/msgadbc104e 'Delete not enabled'/'The
    delete change command is not enabled.' will be issued when the
    'DEL' line command is executed against a change on panel ADB2C11

    2- When the option 'Enable Allow Change Delete' is
    set to NO in IBM Tools Customizer for z/OS, error message
    msgadb9964e / ADB9964E 'Delete change function is not enabled'
    will be issued when specifying parameter action_delete_change
    in the Change Management Batch job to delete a change.

    3- If the customization table library specified during the IBM
    Tools Customizer for z/OS process is not specified under DD
    ISPTLIB in the CM Batch JCL procedure, error message
    msgadb9965e / ADB9965E 'The customization table is unable
    to be opened to verify whether Delete change function is
    enabled.'will be issued when specifying parameter
    action_delete_change in the Change Management Batch job to
    delete a change.

    When the status is not "CANCELED", DB2 Admin Tool previously
    supported the deletion of a change directly when the delete
    change function is enabled. This is working as designed.
