  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the ALTER ADD statement to   *
  *                      add a column with a default value to    *
  *                      a temporal table, a column is added to  *
  *                      both the temporal table and history     *
  *                      table, but DB2 for z/OS does not add    *
  *                      the default value to the history table. *
  *                      When peforming a compare on the         *
  *                      history table, the applied change       *
  *                      attempts to alter the default value of  *
  *                      the history table, but DB2 of z/OS      *
  *                      does not allow the action and fails     *
  *                      with a SQLCODE=-20180                   *
  *                      / SQLCODEN20180 error message:          *

  Altering the default value on a history table causes a
  SQLCODE=-20180 / SQLCODEN20180.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem is resolved.
  
  The new messages ADB7221W and ADB7222W are displayed when
  attempting to alter a default value on a history table.
  
  ADB7221W The default value for appended column >column_name<
  is not propagated from temporal table to the history table.
  
  Explanation: The default value can not be propagated to the
  history table when adding a new column in the temporal table
  because of DB2 limitation.
  System action: Processing continues.
  User response: None.
  
  ADB7222W The difference in the default value for column
  >column_name< can not be implemented in a history table.
  
  Explanation: The default value can not be altered
  in the history table because of DB2 limitation.
  System action: Processing continues.
