Error description

  • Enterprise COBOL V5 program, trying to open a file, encounters
a permanent I/O error. Synad exit routine then receives s244
abend due to an invalid address in reg13.

The user exit to DFSMS, provided by the COBOL run time library
to process I/O errors for QSAM file had an error.

Problem conclusion

  • The user exit for QSAM error handling in the COBOL run time
library has been corrected.
