Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS V11.1 users running     *
  *                 queries which retrieve LOB data.             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When running queries that retrieve LOB  *
  *                      or XML data, users may receive error    *
  *                      messages such as DSQ14111 'You have no  *
  *                      more storage space' or similar. The     *
  *                      error condition might happen when the   *
  *                      user has plenty of storage available.   *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  When processing LOB and XML data types, QMF was using a 32K
  buffer for every LOB column data value, even if there was no
  actual data in the column. For tables such as SYSIBM.SYSINDEXES
  which has many LOB columns, the extra unneeded storage could
  possibly cause an unneccesary out of storage condition.

  QMF has been modified to use a much smaller storage amount when
  fetching LOB and XML data in a situation when no actual data
  exists.
  *
  Note that in QMF 11.1 and higher, QMF uses above the bar storage
  for LOB and XML data type retrieval. Messages such as DSQ14352
  'Not enough above-the-bar storage exists to complete the
  request' may be valid. Verify that enough above-the-bar
  storage exists. MEMLIMIT values may need to be reviewed.
  

Problem conclusion

• Module DSQILOBM has been modified to allocate smaller buffers
  for LOB and XML data type retrieval when no actual data exists.

  The QMF 11.2 fix for this issue is available with PI48110.
