PI46792: ALT UTS CHANGE TO SEGSIZE RESULTS IN DROP/CREATE RATHER THAN ALT ER

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' ALT function used a
  DROP/CREATE method to implement a change in SEGSIZE on a UTS
  rather than using an ALTER method.

  *                 to a Partition-by-Range(PBR) table, and      *
  *                 the table space uses index-controlled        *
  *                 partitioning.                                *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using ALT to alter a partitioned   *
  *                      table space which uses index-controlled *
  *                      partitioning for a PBR table space,     *
  *                      error message ADB7139E / msgadb7139e is *
  *                      issued:                                 *
  *                                                              *
  *                      ADB7139E The CREATE INDEX statement can *
  *                      lead to error . SQLCODEN662/SQLCODE     *
  *                      -662, because a partitioned index       *
  *                      cannot be created on a table which is   *
  *                      in a partition-by-range table space.    *
  *                                                              *
  *                      At the same time, the drop/create       *
  *                      method was used to change the table     *
  *                      space.                                  *

  When using ALT to alter a partitioned table space which uses
  index-controlled partitioning for a PBR table space, error
  message ADB7139E / msgadb7139e is issued and the drop/create
  method to change the table space type is used.
