Error description

  • DB Sensor processing was halted when S000A abend occur. The
abend occurred because of two asynchronous processing requests
against the data set CSS.SWG.IMS.DDXSV01.DBXSV01. Both requests
are a VERIFY request, which validates the high used RBA. It
appears that one has started and moving along and the second
request comes in and is doing the same thing. When the second
request gets control, it ends up waiting on the first request.

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When DB Sensor processes a VSAM file, *
    * DB Sensor scan processing is caused to *
    * the wait state after System ABEND *
    *                      00A-0004.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
DB Sensor enters the wait state and cannot complete the database
scan processing under the following conditions:
-DB Sensor runs as FF Stand-alone database Sensor or it runs
      under IMS Database Reorganization Expert
-The processing database data set is VSAM ESDS or KSDS.
Before DB Sensor is placed into the wait state, ABEND 00A
(System Code=00A reason code=0004) occurs in the VSAM component.
The reason of ABEND 00A is two asynchronous DB Sensor processing
issue the same VERIFY request against the same VSAM data set.
The first request has started and is moving along, the second
request comes in and is doing the same thing, and the ABEND 00A
    occurs.
When the second request gets control, it ends up waiting on
    the first request.

Problem conclusion

  • The following module has been modified to avoid the multiple
VERIFY macro to one VSAM data set.
     BBESSCAN
