Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 and V8.5 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unnecessary materializing nodes in a * * copied tree was causing data * * corruption in the copied trees. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During materializing a copied node, a notification was being sent to the copies of the node to unnecessarily materialize themselves. This extra operation was causing data corruption in the copied nodes. This can cause an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException in the FastAccessMediator.getInternalFastAccess method.
Problem conclusion
The materializing algorithm was updated to avoid materializing nodes (elements, attributes and namespaces) when it is not needed by disabling the mechanism for sending notification to the copied node during materializing. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.12 and 8.5.5.7.
