**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS * * Version 4 Release 2 users ( FMID=H1J0420 ) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes following problems: * * - IMS HP Image Copy terminates with * * ABEND U3916 ( ABENDU3916 ) when using * * STACK output with STACKBASE=REAL, if * * the image copy process is bypassed * * for the first DBDS or area in the * * each stacked tape by following * * reasons: * * - Running process is Concurrent Image * * Copy (CIC) and the first DBDS or * * area is non-recoverable database in * * DBRC. * * - The database is index database and * * virtual image copy process (VIC) is * * requested. * * - The database is index database and * * HDPC=O is requested. * * - IMS HP Image Copy terminates with * * RC=08 and message FABJ0177E * * ( MSGFABJ0177E ) when VIC=Y is * * specified other than GLOBAL * * statement. * * - IMS HP Image Copy sets the incorrect * * return code in RC and SMS= reason * * code in SMS_RSN= to message FABJ3916E * * ( MSGFABJ3916E ). * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes following problems: - IMS HP Image Copy terminates with ABEND U3916 ( ABENDU3916 ) when using STACK output with STACKBASE=REAL, if the image copy process is bypassed for the first DBDS or area in the each stacked tape by following reasons: - Running process is Concurrent Image Copy (CIC) and the first DBDS or area is non-recoverable database in DBRC. - The database is index database and virtual image copy process (VIC) is requested. - The database is index database and HDPC=O is requested. The cause of this problem is that blank sets in the data set name text unit of DYNALLOC macro and when IMS HP Image Copy issues the DYNALLOC. - IMS HP Image Copy terminates with RC=08 and message FABJ0177E ( MSGFABJ0177E ) when VIC=Y is specified other than GLOBAL statement. The cause of this problem is that IMS HP Image Copy mishandles the flag in internal control block and builds NOTIFY.UIC command with incorrect syntax. - IMS HP Image Copy sets the incorrect return code in RC and SMS= reason code in SMS_RSN= to message FABJ3916E ( MSGFABJ3916E ). The cause of this problem is that IMS HP Image Copy does not fetch correct return code and SMS reason code field when DYNALLOC returns error.

Running IMS HP Image Copy Chapter 12. IMS HP Image Copy reports Processing messages for the Image Copy function : | Note: | %NODATA is reported in the output DD name field when one | of the following is true: | - Requested DBDS or area is non-recoverable database | under Concurrent Image Copy process. | - Database is index database and VIC=Y is requested. | - Database is index database and HDPC=O is requested.
