Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' Batch Restart program
    ADBTEP2 issues a misleading message when a CONNECT statement
    is processed and fails:
    ADB5146E Unexpected SQLCODE in :CONNECT RESET
    The message should not state RESET and should echo the SQLCODE.
    The Batch Restart program does not support the DB2 for z/OS
    syntax:
    CONNECT TO location-name authorization

    message when a CONNECT TO statement is processed and
    fails with an ADB5146E / msgadb5146e error message:

Problem conclusion

  • The Batch Restart program ADBTEP2 has been modified to
    support the CONNECT statement with the authorization option
    and issue the correct messages and SQLCODE when the
    CONNECT statement fails.
