PI39473: DB2 ADMIN TOOL TEMPLATES DO NOT OVERRIDE SOME DATASETS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A user can override the data set through the use of TEMPLATE
  statements, but some extraneous TEMPLATE statements with default
  names are still provided.  For example UTLUT1, UTLOUT and UTLERR
  templates can be overiden but still get defined.

  *                 the CHECK DATA utility and use Change        *
  *                 Management (CM).                             *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using CM and specifying template   *
  *                      usage on panel ADB25TU3 'Specify        *
  *                      UTILITY TEMPLATE usage', and            *
  *                      specifying a user-defined               *
  *                      template with the CHECK DATA            *
  *                      utility, DB2 Admin does not use the     *
  *                      user-defined template DSN options       *
  *                      for UTLUT1, UTLOUT, and UTLERR to       *
  *                      process a hidden table space in         *
  *                      CHECK-pending (CHKP) restrictive        *
  *                      status.                                 *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Program should use the correct DSN option for templates UTLUT1,
  UTLOUT and UTLERR to process a hidden table space that is in
  CHECK-pending (CHKP) restrictive status.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem has been resolved so that if the customer chooses
  user-defined templates WORKDDN1, WORKDDN2 and ERRDDN on panel
  ADB25TU3 'Specify UTILITY TEMPLATE Usage', DB2 Admin will
  pick up the DSN options and assign then to UTLUT1, UTLOUT,
  and UTLERR.
