Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 and V8.5 virtual member * * manager (VMM) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: VMM is not returning property values * * in GET API, if the LDAP attribute * * subtype contains a semicolon ; in * * name * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If an LDAP attribute subtype which contains a semicolon ; in the name is mapped to a VMM property, VMM is not returning this property's values in GET API. For example, the attribute name in LDAP server is abcd;xyz The GET API is used internally by WebSphere Application Server and could be used by other applications. However, this problem only occurs when the name contains a semicolon ;
Problem conclusion
To fix this, you need to set a new custom property "com.ibm.ws.wim.adapter.ldap.returnSubTypeAttrName" with value "true". This will return property values in VMM GET API which are mapped to an LDAP attribute which contains a semicolon ; in the name. In order to set this property, use the following command: $AdminTask setIdMgrCustomProperty {-id <LDAP_repos_ID> -name com.ibm.ws.wim.adapter.ldap.returnSubTypeAttrName -value true} Here "LDAP_repos_ID" is the repository id of the LDAP configured in VMM. Also save the configuration after running the previous command using: $AdminConfig save Restart the server The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.11 and 8.5.5.7.
