Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All Users of Program Restart Facility V2R2. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Program IRTZJOBS fails to dynamically * * unallocate the IRTOPT data set upon * * exit from the main ISPF Panel. * * Program IRTOPTW fails to unallocate * * the Audit Log. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In the ISPF interface, the IRTOPT data set is input to the main panel. It is allocated to a temporary DD for various access during the use of other panels, including when the first option is selected from the main panel to Administer Abended/Active Jobs. In this case, when that option is selected, then exited, and then the main ISPF panel is exited, the IRTOPT dataset is left allocated, though it is in not-in-use-status according to the TSO LISTALC STATUS command. There are also cases where the Audit Log is left allocated when various options are changed. This can cause a dynamic allocation error for the Audit Log if another user logs on to the ISPF Interface to change options; e.g. Global Options.
Problem conclusion
Program IRTZJOBS now dynamically unallocates the IRTOPT data set by calling program IRTOPTR, which provides this service. Program IRTOPTW, which is linked into various composite load modules, now cause unallocates the Audit Log.
