Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: NullPointerException and JVM panic * * after * * inconsistency with core group * * configuration. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** After adding members to the coregroup, if the configuration fails to propogate to all members, the newly added members will not be reflected in the defined members list for all members. Those members with configuration inconsistencies can throw a NullPointerException and JVM panic when the newly added members are incorporated into the DCS view.
Problem conclusion
Defined set conflict checks have been expanded and will be performed for all core group members when requested to add new members to the DCS view. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.5.5.6 and 8.0.0.11.
