Error description
When attempting to access RAAz after installing or upgrading to 6.1.0.6, user receives message similar to: Error 500: com.ibm.dmh.cfgmgr.ConfigRuntimeException: ConfigRuntimeException: Unexpected exception caught in ConfigMgr.getConfigFile(Common.cfg): msg=[ConfigRuntimeException: Errors occurred while trying to load config file [Common.cfg]. [1] - ConfigRuntimeException: Could not encode value for prop [password] at line [137] of [Common.cfg]. Msg=[java.io.FileNotFoundException: <path>/dmh/dmh.keystore
Local fix
Page 23 of the RAAz Installation Guide could be updated with: When you provide the DB2 user ID and password on the ISPF setup panel, they are saved in the user Common.cfg file. When the application server is started, the Rational Asset Analyzer for System z servlet encrypts any password stored in the Common.cfg file. To encrypt those passwords, it may create or update a dmh.keystore file. Therefore, the user ID for the application server must have the proper authority to update the Common.cfg file and to create or update a dmh.keystore file. To allow the application server to write to these files, you can change the permissions for the directory and files by making the ID under which the application server runs be the owner of the HFS configuration directory and files. For example: find /etc/dmh -name '*' | xargs -i chown WebSphere-Application-Server-userid '{}' You must also ensure that WebSphere-Application-Server-userid has the authority to read any parent directories of the HFS configuration directory.
Problem summary
RAAz Installation Guide didn't have updates related to enhanced security features related to passwords.
Problem conclusion
Documentation was updated, and planned to be available in same timeframe as PTF for RAAz 6.1.0.7.
