Error description

  • Bypass ENQ on source database data sets when FUZZY-COPY(Y)
During database refresh, IMS Cloning Tool calls DFSMSDSS to
perform the data set copies. DFSMSDSS attempts to ENQ the
source data sets exclusively for the duration of the copy in
order to guarantee integrity of the copy.
With FUZZY-COPY(Y) IMS Cloning Tool sets a DFSMSDSS parameter
to ignore if the ENQ attempt fails. But if the source data set
is not allocated at the time the ENQ is attempted it most
likely will be successful. This outstanding ENQ can cause a
problem if a another user/job, like IMS, attempts to open the
    source data set.
This change will prevent the ENQ from being held when
FUZZY-COPY(Y) is specified even if the source data set is not
allocated at the time the copy phase starts.
