    ****************************************************************
The IMS DataPropagator asynchronous Selector may issue error
message EKYB348E during processing. In the particular case
of the reported problem, the situation encountered was a result
of the stop time from a previous run of the Selector being set
incorrectly. The stop time determined by the prior Selector
was miscalculated as a result of adjustments made when
considering DBRC timestamps to one tenth of a second
    precision.

Problem conclusion

  • Selector processing was changed to utilise DBRC
microsecond precision rather than a precision of one
tenth of a second that was originally used.
When the Selector was originally designed, IMS log
start and stop times were reported to one tenth of a
second by DBRC, although time stamps within IMS
log records were recorded with microsecond precision.
Because of the mismatch between this time stamp
precision as reported by DBRC versus the time stamp
precision found within IMS log records the Selector
needed to make internal time adjustments in order
to capture all applicable IMS log records of interest.
By making use of the available microsecond time
stamps reported by contemporary releases of DBRC
the one tenth of a second induced adjustments
no longer need to be made by the Selector.
