APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • With a multi target compare on three targets within the same
subsystem, each using it's own mask, the generated DDL for each
of the three targets uses the mask from the 1st target (it gets
    used for all three targets).

Local fix

  • 1. Create all the target profiles with different mask specified
       for each target
    2. Create a "target group" with all the target profiles listed.
    3. Specify "Group Name" (instead of "target name") on "Register
Options" panel ADB2CRO when going through OC scenario to
       register a mulit-target change.

Continue to generate the multi-target compare job. Ensure that
job step for register (T03REG) lists all the targets and their
    respective masks.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
During the compare process, users can opt to use the Multi-
target Change Management function. When multiple targets
are associated with the change, the target mask name for the
associated target is not retrieved, and masking is not applied
    on the target system.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem is resolved by retrieving the mask name correctly when
targets are added on panel ADBPCMT 'Associate Targets'.
