PI20713: ACCELERATOR LOADER JOB ENDS WITH 'SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED' ERRORS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An Accelerator Loader job may end with SYSTEM COMPLETION
  CODE=04E (REASON CODE=00E40005) and sort error ICE046A SORT
  CAPACITY EXCEEDED.
  This is only an issue when the Loader does not sort the SYSREC.
  In this case the number of SYSREC records may not accurately be
  estimated when SORTKEYS and NUMRECS clauses are not provided in
  the utility statement.

  The Loader sorts the data only when loading a range partitioned
  table from a single SYSREC.  So, the sort capacity exceeded
  error is a problem in the following cases:
  - when loading a non-range-partitioned table
  - when loading a range partitioned table from partition level
    SYSREC datasets (parallel load)
  ..
  The Loader will be changed to estimate the number of records
  based on the SYSREC dataset(s) and then add a SORTKEYS clause to
  the utility statement if NUMRECS or SORTKEYS have not been
  specified by the user.
