Error description
Messages that contain the HTTP header Content-Encoding=gzip are unzipped when RIT receives them. When they are sent on to the real system by a stub in pass-through mode, they are not re-compressed. The HTTP header is preserved so it has the header property "gzip" set but with uncompressed content. The target system cannot decode the message.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All users of Rational Integration Tester using HTTP stubs * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * When using the sift and pass-through feature with the HTTP * * proxy, messages that contained the HTTP header * * "Content-Encoding=gzip" were not understood by the live * * system when they were 'passed through' to it because the * * contents of the message had already been uncompressed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
In version 8.7.0 of Rational Integration Tester this problem was resolved and the message passed-through to the live system now contains compressed content in line with the header setting.
