APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During high-water mark (HWM) processing involving sync callout
records, IMS PA may not reset all pointers to associated
transaction records flushed during the HWM process. An attempt
to subsequently access the associated transaction record will
result in failure, including possible S0C4 abends if the
    transaction storage has been released.

    Keywords: ABENDS0C4 IPI4PROC IPICPROC

Local fix

  • Increase the PA job REGION= parm to be REGION=256M or higher.
The highest setting of REGION=0M is preferred and recommended
    for PA jobs.
