PI15489: AFTER MSG ADB5184E IS GENERATED NO ADDITIONAL MESSAGES ARE WRITTEN TO SYSTSPRT

Error description

• After an error is generated the DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS
  indicates additional messages may be written in SYSTSPRT,
  however, there are no additonal messages.  For example:
    ADB5184E The run is ending due to an error with a non-SQL
             command.
             Additional messages may have been sent to
             the DD SYSTSPRT

  *                      / Return Code 1888 and error message    *
  *                      ADB5184E / msgadb5184e in the job log:  *

  *                      ADB5184E The run is ending due to       *
  *                      an error with a non-SQL command.        *
  *                      Additional messages may have been       *
  *                      sent to the DD SYSTSPRT.                *
  *                                                              *
  *                      however, no more additional messages    *
  *                      for the failure can be found            *
  *                      anywhere in the job log.                *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The CM batch job on the Run step fails because the ADB2UTIL
  program was not in an APF-authorized library.  The Batch
  Restart Program ADBTEP2 was used to run the change and the
  ADB2UTIL program was used when ADBTEP2 runs DB2 utilities.
  The user should make sure ADB2UTIL is in an APF-authorized
  library before running a change. However, there were no
  additional messages in the job log for the user to
  reference.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem has been resolved by adding an error message ADB5263E /
  msgadb5263e in the job log DD SYSPRINT to provide more
  information to the user regarding the reason for the failure:
  
  ADB5263E The program program_name invocation was not from
  an authorized program facility (APF) library.
