Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If a program issues runtime system file i/o calls only within recursive functions, it is possible that cobol will lose the bll cell pointer for the file xcb, causing an abend. Internal RTC item 116453 has the updates. This was fixed internally Aug 8, 2013. The problem was that the FIB and XCB pointers were not getting refreshed during the EZESCHEDULE-RESOURCE function. When this recursive program was re-entered, COBOL could still have invalid values in working storage and these incorrect values would be used instead.
Problem conclusion
The software has been updated and a fixtest is available.
Temporary fix
