Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Customers using a JavaServer Faces (JSF) * * 2.0 portlet on WebSphere Portal Server * * version 8.0 and later versions. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a JSF 2.0 portlet project with * * javax.faces.PROJECT_STAGE set as * * Development in the web.xml is * * deployed the first validation message * * is displayed in the UI while other * * validation message are displayed on * * the console. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The JSF 2.0 portlet bridge code needs to be updated to add a check if javax.faces.PROJECT_STAGE is set as Development in the web.xml, and render all unhandled faces messages in the UI.
Problem conclusion
The JSF 2.0 Portlet Bridge was updated to render all unhandled faces messages when project stage is development. The fix will not be active until the following context-param is added and its value is set as true and javax.faces.PROJECT_STAGE is set as Development in web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>com.ibm.faces.portlet.RENDER_UNHANDLED_FACES_MESSAG ES</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </context-param> The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.3.
