APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • IMS HALDB TOOLKIT needs to support databases with Logical
Relationships to allow the ANALYZE PART function to be run.
This is really needed in order to get HIGH KEYs for All
databases including the ones with logical relationships.
There is no processing needed for the logical relationship to
    get high keys.
This enhancement is being implemented as a result of RFE 32528.

This APAR adds a new function to ANALYZEPART to accept databases
    with logical relationships.
This enhancement is being implemented as a result of RFE 32528.
In addition, the following potential problems under ISPF user
interface have been fixed in this APAR:
     - Assemble error in DBDGEN can occur for HIDAM database with
       logical relationship.
     - EPS for logical children might not be created.
     - PID might be reset.

Comments

  • The module IHCWTDB0 has been changed to support databases with
    Logical Relationships for the Analyzepart.
    The modules IHCWANA4, IHCWUOW, IHCYDBD3, IHCYDBD5 and IHCYDBD8
have been changed to fix some potential problems.

Chapter 3. Simulating HALDB using ANALYZEPART
      Simulating conversion to a HALDB
        About this task
By simulating the effect of the HALDB partition settings,
you can determine the most effective partition settings
before you convert a full-function database to HALDB by
          using the CONVERT command.
    | About a database with logical relationships, the database
    | specified in the DBD parameter is only to be simulated.
    | All logically related databases are not to be simulated.

        About this task
By simulating the effect of the new partition settings,
you can determine the most effective partition settings
before you consolidate or split partitions by using the
