PI13285: WRONG CONVERSION OF BLANKS WHEN USING CODEPAGE 937 DBCS.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Using XML GENERATE, Trailing DBCS spaces should be suppressed.
  They are suppressed if there is data in the field followed by
  trailing spaces.  The spaces are not suppressed if the whole
  field is all spaces.  In hex, the blanks look like E38080.
  

Local fix

• Do XML GENERATE to type NATIONAL, then use FUNCTION DISPLAY-OF
  with override codepage 1200 to convert back to single byte.
