**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Add support for GUID syntax for * * external Id attribute in Federated * * Repository * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Add a new syntax type named GUID for external Id attribute in Federated Repsitory
Problem conclusion
We introduce support for new syntax type GUID. To apply this fix, you need to configure the externalId mapping with the GUID syntax using the following wsadmin CLI $AdminTask addIdMgrLDAPExternalIdAttr { -id <LDAP_Repository_ID> -name objectGUID -syntax GUID } $AdminConfig save And add an environment property tag manually in ldapServers tag configured in Microsoft AD LDAP repository in the wimconfig.xml file. <config:environmentProperties name="java.naming.ldap.attributes.binary" value="objectGUID"/> After adding the property the configuration will looks like the following: <config:ldapServers authentication="simple" bindDN="cn=administrator,cn=users"..> ... <config:environmentProperties name="java.naming.ldap.attributes.binary" value="objectGUID"/> </config:ldapServers> Restart WebSphere Application Server. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.3.
