APAR status

Error description

• ZIIPMODE of HP Image Copy V4.2 can not work with z/OS V2,
  because OS version handling is incorrect.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ZIIPMODE=COND does not work on z/OS     *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *

  ZIIPMODE=COND does not work on z/OS Version 2, then compression
  process can not be offloaded on zIIP processor.
  

Problem conclusion

• ZIIPMODE=COND does not work on z/OS Version 2, then compression
  process can not be offloaded on zIIP processor. IMS HP Image
  Copy checks if the running z/OS level supports zIIP or not, when
  ZIIPMODE=COND is specified. But IMS HP Image Copy checks version
  and release independently, then ZIIPMODE=COND is bypassed on
  z/OS Version 2 Release 1. IMS HP Image Copy checks z/OS level
  with combination of version and release.
  
  The following modules have been modified to check z/OS level
  correctly.
    FABJCRC0, FABJRDB9, FABJRDBA, FABJRDBB, FABJRDB2, FABJRDB3
  
  The FABJDMPN macro has been modified to check z/OS level
  correctly.
  
  The following modules have been reassembled.
    FABJDMP9, FABJDMPA, FABJDMPB, FABJDMP2, FABJDMP3
