PI05160: PROVIDE FOR ZIIP OFFLOAD OF CEX EVENT RECORDING

APAR status

Error description

• This APAR addresses these problems:
  1. New function to provide for ZIIP offload of CEX event
     recording.
  2. IMS Connect may fail to shutdown when some rare abend
     situations occur. CEX is still active and preventing ICON
     from shutting down.
  3. There is no way to determine what type of ACEE cache deletion
     is being done by CEX when the ACEEs are being cached.
  4. IMS Connect may fail to end at shutdown because CEX is
     waiting for a task to disconnect from the TDB. The joblog
     shows that IMS Connect has completed shutdown processing.
  5. Message CEX5592E is issued for a PING request that contains
     a blank Userid or Password. This is because CEX is checking
     security for a PING request when it should not be.

• The following changes have been made for the above issues:
  1.New function is provided that allows certain event collection
  functions to be offload to ZIIP processors via a start-up
  option for CEX
  2.Corrected CEX processing to properly shutdown when these rare
  abend situations occur
  3. The code is changed to write an event record 64 decimal
  x'40' that contains a flag bit in the DIAG flag indicating
  that the cache entry was deleted by cache aging. The APAR
  level of the event record is raised to a level of 3.
  4.Code has been changed to detect the task that has not
  disconnected from the TDB and issue emergency termination
  so that the task will disconnect from the TDB.
  5.Corrected CEX to not perform security checking for a PING
  request.
