Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IMS Administration Tool for z/OS * * (FMID=HALC110). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS catalog and ACB library management * * function enhancement. To improve the * * performance in displaying analysis * * reports, changes were made to the * * function and ISPF panels. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** The following modifications are provided by this enhancement. In order to shorten the response time of IMS catalog and ACB library management ISPF panels, a batch job is provided. The batch job analyzes all DBD and PSB instances in IMS catalog, and all members in IMS directory or ACB libraries, and generates DBD/PSB summary report, DBD detail report, and PSB detail report. You can build the JCL statements, submit the job, and view the reports on IMS catalog and ACB library management ISPF panels. In addition, new panels DBD list and PSB list are added. The new panels analyzes DBDs and PSBs interactively but limited up to 100 instances and members and some information are not displayed compare to the detail reports. After applying these modifications, you can know the following information and take actions as before the modifications. - Know the overview of IMS catalog database data set space usage - Find inconsistencies in IMS catalog, IMS directory, and ACB libraries - View DBD and PSB macro statements - Find obsolete instances (not used by IMS) and delete them Refer IMS Administration Tool User's Guide (SC27901130) for more information of the new IMS catalog and ACB library management. Note that to enable this APAR's enhancement, apply the PTF for APAR PH62904 to IMS Library Integrity Utilities. ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IMS Administration Tool for z/OS Version 1 Release 1 User's Guide and Reference (SC27-9011) is updated.
