PH62309: ADMIN TOOL: ADB27AC COMPLETES WITH RC<8 BUT TABLE IS MISSING RECORDS AFTER A TABLE STRUCTURE CHANGE

APAR status

Error description

• After an Admin Tool change in production, user found that one of
  the tables in change scope was missing records. This table was
  undergoing a structure change and was dropped and recreated with
  data changed by Admin tool as a part of the change. The unload
  and the load count do not match as the tool had an internal
  abend in ADB27AC, but continued processing with RC < 8.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Records were missing after a change was *
  *                      run, even though conversion routine     *
  *                      ADB27AC abended but returned RC=4.      *
  ****************************************************************
  The user did a change that altered the table structure and
  required a table conversion to be done by the ADB27AC routine.
  Due to a storage problem, ADB27AC abended and stopped.
  However, the ADB27AC routine returned RC=4, and processing of
  the change continued.  The table was not converted correctly
  due to the abend, and the subsequent LOAD did not load all
  the records.  The abend should have stopped processing
  of the change.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved.
