  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Automatic switching from IAG2 to the    *
  *                      original insert algorithm (IAG1) for an *
  *                      entire tablespace on a Db2 subsystem    *
  *                      or data sharing member, due to various  *
  *                      reasons that prevent IAG2 usage, raised *
  *                      quality concerns.                       *
  *                      The following Db2 message would be      *
  *                      issued when automatic switching from    *
  *                      IAG2 to IAG1 for an entire tablespace   *
  *                      on a Db2 subsystem or data sharing      *
  *                      member:                                 *

  Problem Summary:
  
  Frequent enabling and disabling of IAG2 for an entire table
  space on a Db2 subsystem or data sharing member can
  degrade insert transaction performance. This disabling is
  commonly caused by insufficient page-pipe storage,
  page-pipe fill failures, space constraints, or other
  resource limitations.

  Problem Conclusion:
  
  Db2 code improves efficiency by minimizing switching between
  IAG2 and IAG1. Instead of entirely disabling IAG2 for a table
  space on a Db2 subsystem or data sharing member, Db2 can now
  switch to IAG1 for specific insert processes. The granular
  switching enables subsequent insert transactions within the
  same Db2 subsystem or data sharing member to immediately
  resume using IAG2 for the same tablespace, reducing the
  performance impact of disabling IAG2.
  
  IFCID 2, 3 and 148 trace records have been improved with
  the addition of a new statistic counters for IAG2 to provide
  better insight into IAG2 usage.
