  A piece of memory in the compiler's CSECT was being
  inadvertently written to during the processing of alphanumeric
  intrinsic functions. While the write did not harm the memory, in
  some environments, the write to the compiler's own CSECT memory
  can fail with a S0C4 abend.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was updated to correct the inadvertent write to the
  compiler's CSECT memory.
