Error description

  • Under LP(64), when a CEEDUMP is produced, the COBOL debug
runtime may fail to format local variables with

        Local Variables:
          COBOL variables were inaccessible.
          Reason: internal error (50).

but only for subroutines due to an invalid WSA (writable static
area). The main routine is fine.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Install the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
When a CEEDUMP is generated from an AMODE 64 program compiled
with NOEXPORTALL, 'Local Variables' section for COBOL
in CEEDUMP fails to generate debugging information.

    Instead, the following is found.
    Local Variables:
      COBOL variables were inaccessible.
      Reason: internal error (50).

Problem conclusion

  • COBOL Runtime has been improved to handle CEEDUMP for
AMODE 64 COBOL programs compiled with NOEXPORTALL.
